Every year, MFCDI organized at least one study tour to help participants gain practical knowledge about microfinance.

This year, the study tour last for 2 days, on 3rd – 4th October, 2015. Participants including the senior delegation from State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), MFCDI’s key personnel, micro client representatives, and local authorities in Hoa Binh – a rural province where many poor people are supported by MFCDI.

At the meeting with Lung Van Commune’s authorities, Mrs. Bui Thi Tham – a micro client - shared her success story. She said the loan she received from MFCDI really helps her life to get much better. The loan enabled her to buy good seedlings and fertilizer for her crops. Better crops help her to gain better income. Mrs. Tham also benefits from non-financial services rendered by MFCDI, such as training courses on education, environment, etc. On behalf of rural community in Lung Van, Mrs. Tham thanked MFCDI for the great support and dedication to help them find their own ways out of poverty.

After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to Mrs. Ha Thi Hien – a poor client living in an old cottage in the mountainous area of Hoa Binh. Mrs. Hien is a single mom, and her little child has been suffering from mental disorder since she was very young. Life is never easy for Mrs. Hien and her disabled child, but she is not discouraged. She tries her best to improve her life and bring a brighter future for her child. She said all the support she gets from MFCDI really encourages her to be stronger and make more efforts in her life.

In the afternoon, a formal meeting was hold in the People Committee of Phong Phu Commune, where MFCDI bases the head office for Hoa Binh branch. The meeting gave an overall assessment for MFCDI’s programs. Many feedbacks were raised from SBV’s delegation and local authorities, which would help MFCDI to make more progress in the near future.
